Where is fulham football ground

If tickets remain available, these can also be bought at the ticket office on the day of the match. Fulham rarely sell out in the Championship. Fulham have divided their home matches into two pricing categories. Fulham offer guided stadium tours that include the changing rooms, trophy lounge, dugouts, Cottage balcony, and the Johnny Haynes statue. Tours tend to run a few times a month, generally on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at am.

Check the Craven Cottage events website for exact dates and hours. Bookings can be made online. Walk-ups are allowed, but subject to availability, and it is therefore advised to book in advance. For more information email cottagetours fulhamfc. It takes about 15 minutes to get from the tube to the ground. We had bought our ticket online before and printed them out, which meant that we got into the ground quickly and were seated before the start of the match. As tickets for all stands went for the same price, we had gotten ourselves some central seats at the Riverside Stand, which was great.

You make your way to the stand through a tunnel below the Putney End stand and then end up right along the river Thames.

The views from the Riverside Stand are great if you can avoid the restricted view seats, and during half-time you can pop out again and have a look over the Thames. If you wish to get something to eat or drink during half-time, it may make sense to walk towards the Hammersmith End where queues seemed significantly shorter. The atmosphere was relatively subdued with neither the home nor away fans particularly boisterous, and while initially still rather promising, quickly petered out as a result of the quality of football on display.

After the match we decided to walk to Hammersmith tube station to avoid any possible further delays. While we did not know the exact way, there was a significant number of other fans taking the same option that we could follow. Overall, Craven Cottage is one of the English stadiums with the most character, and is definitely worth a visit if you are in London.

Modern stands at either end with the famous old Stevenage Road Stand — now rightly called the Johnny Haynes stand. This still has lots of pillars and wooden seats — you can smell the history in there. Next to that is the old Cottage in the corner. A wonderful Saturday stroll. We w alked through Fulham Palace and Bishop's Park, a beautiful walk, lots of people out and about, home fans were friendly. We went to the Fulham clup before the match and bought scarves, shirts, hats, etc.

Craven Cottage is simply great, the neighbourhood was good and walking in and seeing the pitch and the stands was a great feeling. The away end was segregated, big metal fence with guard allowing no access to or from Riverside Stand and cops keeping them separate in their end, but they were loud. Saw some MK Dons fans with jersey's on in Riverside Stand and they were told they had to move to the visitor's stand and couldn't watch the match in Riverside Stand which I did find slightly odd.

Both clubs were in a relegation fight and they both needed to win. The atmosphere was good, not as many fans as I expected and less songs and chants. I had contacted the club directly through email to buy tickets and they sold us a package that included a Pre-Match Meal in McBride's another Fulhamerica player underneath the Riverside Stand, plus half time and post match drinks, snacks and a meet and greet with two of the players.

It was about the same price as holding up the back of the Emirates but with a lot of extras, food, drink, meet and greet. I asked if they could have Tim Ream or Hyndman come to the meet and greet and they gave me no promises. The Pre match meal was phenomenal. I was not expecting the quality of the food that was served and that it was essentially all you could eat.

It was actually one of the best meals we had on holiday…I was stunned at how good the food was at the match. They also didn't seem to be limiting the pre match pints either. We sat in the Riverside Stand near the Director's box, next to the MK Dons players not in the 18 and then who sat two rows directly in front of us just prior to the match?

It was rumored he was scouting the Dembele who now plays for Celtic. My son moved down a little lower and got a good picture of him with a cell phone.

The game was also great. Fulham took lead early in the second half, Dons then equalised. Fulham won the game in the 75th minute with a second goal to make it The scoreline might not have been this close if Cropper hadn't played so well for the Dons.

They were both very friendly, answered lots of questions, autographs, tons of photographs, etc. We also met a lot of Europeans from Belgium, Denmark and Sweden, plus other Americans who had also came to the match. We waited a while to leave due to the post match meet and greet and then at Tube waited for a large crowd of mixed drunk and semi-unruly Dons fans to get on train before we got on the next train.

It was a great day, I would definitely go to Craven Cottage again and I would pay up for the same package at McBride's. It was well worth it. Maybe next time they will be in Premier League? Jon Thomson Neutral 10th September Comment on getting away from the ground after the game: Easy enough reverse route, traffic seemed a bit clogged up but leaving on public transport this wasn't an issue and I was back in central London quickly enough.

Summary of overall thoughts of the day out: Weather aside it was a fun day — decent level of attacking football, one of the few old school grounds left in the region that seemed a friendly club and a reasonably priced ground.

William Horwood Norwich City 18th October Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, facilities etc. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game: Fine until you reach the tube station, which is not really equipped to handle large crowds.

Summary of overall thoughts of the day out: A pleasant trip and a better result that I'm used to, but the atmosphere is always slightly lacking at Craven Cottage. John Handley Neutral 2nd January Summary of overall thoughts of the day out: We enjoyed the game and would probably go again if it is a meaningful match up.

Jamie Hanson Leeds United 7th March Comment on getting away from the ground after the game: Easy to get out and get home. Despite being gutted about their equaliser. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out: What a great evening and Craven Cottage is a nice ground.

Shaun Leeds United 7th March Comment on getting away from the ground after the game: Again very easy. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out: Overall, my visit to Craven Cottage was enjoyable apart from Leeds not winning!

Peter Yeoman Wolverhampton Wanderers 18th March As Fulham had beaten League leaders Newcastle United the week before this was an easier win than I had expected Comment on getting away from the ground after the game: Little problem apart from some congestion at Putney Bridge Station. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out: A really good day out — what can be better than to be able to walk to the ground through a park alongside a major river helps when you win though!

Matthew Edge Sheffield Wednesday 19th August Craven Cottage is one of the very last 'traditional' grounds that gives you the 'old school' feel about football. In the Championship League we're now used to visiting these wonderful new stadiums but often lose the 'old school' vibe.

This gave us access to unlimited train and underground to, in and out of London. Great value. The pub is for visiting fans only. There is a drinks cart a little further toward the Thames side of the away ground and they do serve really quick. Just short of a fiver a pint. W inning an away game is always special and we did our part with the atmosphere. The stewards seemed relaxed and helpful when needed. The lager was pretty poor to be honest but the pie was decent.

Toilet facilities are very good and there is a bookies cabin for any pre match fancies. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game:. The crowd move quickly through the park.

No issues or trouble before or after the game. Fulham fans are very well behaved. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out:. Enjoyed the day. If you've never been to Craven Cottage then get in now before the club erect some ghastly and too familiar 'modern' stadium. The ground has character and oozes tradition! Yaz Shah Bristol Rovers 22nd August I watched most home and away Rovers games last season. This was a good tester for our side and a chance to progress and possibly meet a bigger team or even Bristol City in next round.

I met up with a Gashead who I had met at the end of last season at Gillingham. The alternative was a walk along the river bank which Steve had done before on his previous visits to Craven Cottage. Outside the ground, a steward asked us how many fans we were bringing. I think because he was surprised to see how many supporters had already entered with an hour to go to kick off. What a lovely ground.

I loved it. The away stand is not too steep and there were no pillars in our way. We had over 1, supporters but there was plenty of room to sit or stand.

It was very comfortable and most of the Gasheads stood. It was a brilliant game for us. Ellis Harrison scored on 13 minutes with a superb three man move. Fulham could not break us down and did not have one decent shot the whole match that troubled our goalie. Our fans were superb, singing all the way. Stewards were friendly enough and did not bother whether we were standing or sitting. Beer nice, one toilet a bit small for so many fans and a bit wet.

There were televisions outside on the concourse showing the match being played so good. All in all, one of the nicest places to watch football as an away supporter.

The Fulham supporters silent for most of the match. Honest reviews by them on YouTube after saying we deserved it. Great video taken by independents with a very good assessment of the game. The referee and linesmen were also superb the whole game.

Very fair. Met lots of Rovers supporters all the way back to Hammersmith and on Tube as a lot of visiting fans park north west of the M4 and catch the tube in. Met a nice couple from Bristol with two kids, mum was Fulham, dad was Rovers. Mum and daughter went to the Fulham End, the other two with the Gas fans. I bet she did not say too much after the match? It was a great evening out at Craven Cottage. It drizzled a little but I did not catch much of it. It was good watching game with Steve.

Gonna be there for all three although the referees don't seem to do us many favours when we are on Sky television. Corey Cardiff City 9th September Craven Cottage is one of my favourite grounds in the country and it looked like an early promotion contender! An e asy journey. I took the Tube to Putney Bridge and then a 20 minute walk to the stadium. The home fans are the most friendly ever! No aggro, no abuse! Amazing Fulham supporters.

It was a g ood game; which ended in a draw. Like the rest of the Club the stewards really friendly and helpful. An easy walk back to the tube station from Craven Cottage; with no bother from the home fans. Certainly in my top four away days. It was also not a bad result against a good side. I would recommend visiting Craven Cottage. Anybody from anywhere will enjoy it! David Cardiff City 9th September I'd never been to Craven Cottage so was looking forward to visiting one of the older grounds in the game.

Also Fulham is a straightforward trip from Cardiff. I knew the game itself was going to be tough as Fulham have a lot of good players. I caught the Megabus up to London. Then it was off on the Tube to Putney Bridge. I spent time in the Victoria Sports Bar and I also had a wander around Central London and popped into a couple of shops. Fulham felt like s family club, they seemed quite friendly. It looks like an old ground with some unique features. In the corner near the away end is 'the cottage' that looks like a house.

I've never seen anything like it. Also in the other corner there's a hospitality box for home fans with a balcony that overlooks the away end. Some Fulham fans spent some time waving to the Cardiff fans! Easy to leave the ground and walk back to Putney Bridge. Didn't see any trouble on way out of the ground. It was a great game to watch. Exciting stuff. Craven Cottage is a nice ground with a big away end. Cardiff had over 3, fans in attendance, so the atmosphere was fantastic. Steve 'Minty' Taylor Millwall 25th November I haven't been to Craven Cottage for a few years, although it is a local game for us.

Plus there are some great pubs by the River Thames. Finding the ground from Putney Tube Station was really easy. It was just a short walk through the park. Went to the Boathouse pub across the other side of Putney Bridge. Plenty of away fans inside and a good atmosphere. Not a bad away end, with a traditional old Main Stand, located to the right of us.

Millwall fans were mixing in with home fans in the neutral part of ground as that couldn't squeeze us all into the away section. Not much atmosphere really with us lot doing the majority of the singing. Fulham won the game with a goal just on the stroke of half time.

On the bright side the burgers were the best I've ever had at a football ground! Unfortunately, we lost but I had a cracking day out at Craven Cottage and will go again. Best burgers by far at any ground, who else has does a burger in a brioche bun? Thomas Inglis Neutral 3rd February As always, to check another ground off the list No. I have also wanted to go to a game at Craven Cottage for a long time. Friday overnight coach from Dundee to London.

Craven Cottage is well signposted through the nearby public park and the floodlights are visible in the distance, so pretty easy.

Arriving early morning, I went to the ground to pick up ticket. I then took a look into club shop then around the outside of the ground for a few obligatory pictures. I then had a wander along the side of the river before checking out the shops on either side of the bridge. Popped into the bookies before first pub 'The Bricklayer's Arms', then 'The Duke's Head' neither of which were too busy. Once I got to 'The Temperance' the Forest fans were in and the place soon got mobbed.

There were Fulham fane here too, but everything seemed to be friendly enough. The layout of Craven Cottage is like no other with 'that little house in the corner', as a visiting youngster beside me put it. The stadium has a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Thames.

I was in the Putney End, in the mixed neutral section, again somewhat unique, but no trouble. A good view of the action from here, though the stands running the length of the pitch appeared to have several pillars that could impede your view.

No issues with the stewards or the facilities. A crowd of over 22, meant I could not comment on the half time fayre as I could not get near refreshments. The Forest fans went through a repertoire of a lot of noisy songs for about 70 minutes to create a good atmosphere.

And so to the game itself — both teams cancelled each other out in the first half, with Forest probably slightly on top. Second half, Worral of Forest hit a post with a header, then around 70 minutes Piazon of Fulham beat a couple of players before slotting home. This is when the Fulham fans found their voice and as it got to the last minute Johansen picked the ball up running past Forest players for 30 yards before firing in to give Fulham the 2 — 0 win.

No problems in getting away from the ground but queues to get in pubs after game led me further into Fulham itself to the 'Oktoberfest Bar' to watch the tea time televised game. As usual a good day out in a part of London that I had never been to. Most expensive and worst beer of the day. Steve Ellis Exeter City 28th August How easy was your journey and finding the ground? Comments on getting away from the ground after the game: Getting away afterwards, the coach was waiting where it dropped us off, but the ground is easy to get away from.

I had never been to Craven Cottage before so I was really looked forward to ticking off a new ground and thought we might sneak a draw at least. I came down from where I live in Manchester by train. It was then very straightforward getting to Putney Bridge tube station. I got there a bit early so I could have one of the all you can eat buffet lunches at one of the Indian Veggie restaurants on Drummond Street, as is my tradition for 3 pm.

I then met friends for a quick drink. It was hard getting in anywhere until we chanced upon the King's Head. Not only was it easy to get in but they had a garden with a bar that was quick to get served at, that was a result! I was drinking with a home fan who was a cousin of my mate and he was friendly but not confident!

It is nice to see the cottage on the corner. The ground struck me as a nice mix of modern and traditional. The away end was fairly standard but the whole ground had a nice feel and look about it. It was a really good game from our perspective. We took an early lead with a penalty and after Mcdonald was sent off towards the end Wilson grabbed a second and Brooks also scored to make it an unusually comfortable win in the Premier League for us! Fulham were poor though and Mitrovic and Schurrle pretty anonymous.

We got away quickly and I was pleasantly surprised as to how quickly I got a tube back to Euston. My mate thought I had cut it fine with a 6. I am writing this almost 3 months after and it is the only time I have seen Bournemouth win from 8 games I have been to this season so each time I think of it I enjoyed it more through my increasingly rose tinted spectacles!

Nice ground, friendly fans, easy to get to and from Euston and 3 points and 3 goals: what's not to like? Gutted Fulham look like getting relegated at the time of writing and I hope they and we don't!

I do think the Premier League capping away prices should follow lower down the leagues. Football is nothing without away fans. The Cottage is another of those classic grounds that I had always wanted to revisit. We had booked parking on someone's drive in a Mews about 20 minutes walk away and got there early to enjoy a couple of pints so had no problems. An old favourite of mine and also of beer writer Pete Brown, another native of Barnsley. Sadly no sign of Pete today but plenty of cracking beers on offer.

From here we went to the Octoberfest on Fulham Road for some cracking German beers and food. There was a good mix of friendly home and away fans and we passed a couple of happy hours here. Apart from the classic Archibald Leitch Stand and the cottage, the ground has changed so much since I last visited in yet was comfortably recognisable.

It is an absolute gem. I had a wander and got my pin badge from the shop. The away end is comfortable and there was a good noise generated by the City fans.

The fact it was Claudio Ranieri's first game in charge of Fulham added some spice and the City fans clearly have a lot more affection for him than his new fans. The game was pretty poor. Neither side could gain control. I think a draw was a fair result and I'm sure Ranieri felt better at the end. As we'd eaten earlier I can't comment on the food.

An easy 20 minute walk back to the car and a reasonably pain-free exit along the M4. The rest of our journey will be familiar to football fans all over the country. Overnight lane closures and restrictions… painful.

Pete Woodhead Doing the 92 24th August I loved the idea of seeing the Cottage and the feel of a really old stadium that looked to be taken more care of unlike Luton. The journey was a 10 minute walk from Putney Bridge station via a large park area. Easy to find, even if the ground is in the middle of a housing estate and blends in. A pub near the tube station housed both fans and was showing the early KO Chelsea v Norwich Food and beer reasonable priced.

I was sitting with home fans yet met many neutral fans, all cheerful. Loved it, quirky old ground. Inside was all wooden and showed pictures from the old days. The mascot was walking around inside taking pictures with the kids also. It felt a very welcoming family ground. The game was competitive which Forest won with 2 counter attacks. On the whole, Fulham were the better team. The atmosphere was quite quiet from the home fans but the Forest supporters were quite loud. The food area was rammed and due to how small the area is inside there was no room to queue let alone drink a beer.

I's recommend getting a drink early. Similar walk back via the park to the station. No cars around this area which allowed fans to cover the whole road. Great little old stadium which is different to most you will visit. Well worth a trip before this eventually gets torn down for a modern stadium. Zak Nottingham Forest 24th August I was looking forward to this game as I had never been to Fulham before but had heard through people that it was a very good away day.

There was an extra sense of excitement as Fulham had only just been relegated from the Premier League and had some real quality within their ranks. I had also heard Craven Cottage was one of the smaller grounds in the league.

Finding the ground was easy enough. Just around the corner from Putney Bridge tube station is a pub called the Eight Bells which only allows in away supporters. There was a good selection of lagers however the pub itself was small and not ideal for a big crowd. We then headed away from the ground over Putney Bridge itself to a pub called the Coat and Badge. The weather was lovely so the beer garden was full with two screens outside showing the ashes cricket match and the early kick-off which was ideal for a few pre-match beers.

We then headed back towards the ground and went into a pub called the Temperance. This pub was mixed with home and away fans but had a good atmosphere and considering the number of people in there, getting served was very swift. When we got to the ground we realised that home fans and away fans were to go through the same turnstiles which I personally find very odd.

When we got to our seats I noticed that the stand to our left which runs along the river was having major construction work so was completely closed. The away end was a small allocation of half a stand behind the one goal whilst the other half was given to Fulham fans. The ground was small but unique with the actual Craven Cottage being a nice touch just sat in the corner of the ground. The game was good on a personal note as we bullied our way to a victory. It was safe to say that the ground did not have any atmosphere whatsoever which was really disappointing.

Within 5 minutes of the match starting stewards were out asking everyone to sit down. Getting away from the game after was very easy as you come out the gates you came in and just take the same route back to the Putney Bridge tube station. Overall, the away day is good, the location, the choice of pubs etc.

The only thing in my opinion that lets the day down as a whole was the actual ground itself and the way it was run on a match day. A few minor tweaks and this could be one of the best away days in the league. Shaun Leeds United 21st December Comment on getting away from the ground after the game: Not too bad, back through the mud to Putney and onto the station. Jordi Fens Doing the 92 30th December I had never visited before and I had heard of it being quite quirky.

The prospect of what football was actually to be played before my eyes wasn't salivating. I arrived at 1. Instead, I went to the ground to have a few beers there. Not domineering, but not helped by the building site on one side where a new stand is being built. It is well enclosed from the street. Turnstiles were tight to get through.

The beer had run out at one stand by The stand was dreadful. The atmosphere was flat overall. I sat with the Stoke fans who tried to inject a bit of atmosphere into the game at times but they were disappointing. Fulham fans don't really have a reputation for atmosphere so there wasn't much pride to be won in the atmosphere stakes. The stewards generally acted fine.

Bizarrely I was sat in the block closest to the "neutral" section, with a line of stewards, separating the away fans from the "neutrals". The stewards didn't let any away fans walk up aisle closest to them if it was the neutral side, rather one had to walk all the way across one's own section to the other gangway.

Plus the entrance to the tiny facilities area at the bottom of the stand was located pretty far back. I had heard the tube can take forever after the final whistle or later so I left early. The walk back to Putney Bridge was fine and the train was quiet when I got on it.

Craven Cottage goes down as one of my least favourite grounds for the away fan. The away stand was like Gillingham's, the facilities were suboptimal, the transport situation is poor for London, the ground is nothing special and I won't be coming back unless I have a very good reason to. Tick it off if only if you have to. Alex Reading 1st January I went on one of the club supporters coaches and it took us under an hour and a half.

But the unfortunate thing is it drops us off 2 streets from the ground so better have a good memory to find your way back. The game itself was amazing yet again John swift getting on the scoresheet early on then Charlie Adam almost scores from the halfway line but just wide but after the break he did get that second goal and pandemonium reigned in the away end.

In the 60th minute Fulham did get a goal we held on for a fourth win in a row. After applauding the players I made my way back to coaches and we were away from London in about 30 minutes. Really amazing. A great start for the New Year plus it helped with my hangover from the night before. Come on you Royals! Updated 19th June Submit A Review Ground Layout. Your email address will not be published. Why were you looking forward to this game and visiting the ground itself?

Comment on getting away from the ground after the game. The build is scheduled to take two years to complete, and once finished Fulham will be able to boast some of the finest hospitality lounges and one of the most impressive concourses in English football.

As of , however, the stand is still not finished, although it isn't that far off, and Fulham have added a new riverside walkways development including an event space and a pier that will be open to the public and capable of accepting deliveries and passengers by boat.
